Well the real problem lies with people realizing that kizomba and urbankizz and other versions of kizomba will become more popular and everybody wants to get a piece of that pie.
Unfortunately people who want to learn dancing usually come after watching videos on youtube/ social media.
Most men are like wow these people are dancing real close together so sensual and you probably also have people come to studio/social event not to dance but '‘ to get in close contact with other gender’' and also some ladies go like wish i could dance like that especially with lifts and drops/ bodywaves And people like this are the crop of the cream for the so called instructors that i was trying to mention in the first post,
You mentioned forums like this is really important but there is another problem. There is a whole generation of people who grew up on social media platforms and have no interest in doing research, They dont want to work for what they want They all want everything to be fast: they want to be able to learn, dance, and show their skills of as fast as they can, this here is what leads people to make bad choices when they are looking for an instructor They dont look how an instructor is teaching basics hell some people dont even wanna learn basic technics they find them boring. they just look at how an instructor is doing lifts. drops, flashy movements, and just want to be able dance like people whom they watch on videos unfortunately this is not just for dancing but for everything in their lives
Unfortunately it all comes to how instructors can find a way to make learning basics interesting or so called fun for these people and i really dont have an idea that i can pop off at the moment.
İ’m not sure how this is gonna work but almost every event/festival out there dont care about where the people come from and some so called instructors are getting promotion deals for every student they bring. İ really have no idea how we can filter out these people but there needs to be something done about this topic. Maybe observe them if people do not enjoy dancing with this so called instructors dont call them for the next event or something like that but thats gonna be going way too far,
But if we can manage to popularize forums like this one and have instructors/performers/dancers anyone interested join on the discussion i’m pretty sure we can find some ways for all instructors to use.
We can also increase the awareness of people who want to learn kizomba and maybe show them that basics are really important, what they should learn first and how they should learn it how should the process be so they will look how an instructor is teaching these before they go look for a school/studio
İn this way if people stop going to this so called instructors maybe we can also help these ignorant fellows improve themselves help them see what they are lacking and put them on the right path
İ’m pretty sure there are people who has solutions on the topic of making basics fun and etc. Well cause there are also people who can follow/lead doing basics right around the world amongst all levels of dancers.
Proper education seems to be the way but that is the problem of all the world atm so we can only hope that instructors/performers and popular kizomberas/os on social media will try to popularize websites like this where information is shared
